Yellow Sticky Plates as Traps for Aphids and Natural Enemies in Wheat Fields
To evaluate the effectiveness of yellow sticky boards(yellow boards)in trapping wheat aphids and their natural enemies,an experiment was conducted at the Wuligang Experimental Base of Luohe Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Henan from 2021 to 2022.The effect of yellow boards on wheat aphids and their natu-ral enemies was monitored and analyzed. The results showed that the arthropods collected in the past two years belonged to six orders, thirteen families, and twenty-one species.Pests comprised three orders, seven families, with the dominant species being the constricted-cereal aphid.Natural enemies comprised five orders and five families, with the dominant species being the tobacco aphid cocoon bee.The species and quantity of arthropods attracted were relatively stable over the two years. The number of aphids and main natural enemies trapped varied between years, but the occurrence dynamics and peak periods were consistent. The total number of individuals attracted over two years showed a clear trend with temperature, exhibiting multi-peak fluctuations. The occur-rence dynamics of the aphids were divided into seven stages:immigration, settlement, overwintering, recovery, rapid rise, peak, and decline.Yellow boards can effectively monitor aphids during the recovery period of winged aphids, providing a useful reference for predicting aphid populations in wheat fields.
