Effects of Electron Beam Irradiation on Contents of Aflatoxin and Spinosin in Ziziphi Spinosae Semen
This study aimed to determine the effect of electron beam irradiation on the degradation of afla-toxins(AFB1,AFB2,AFG1,AFG2)and spinosin in Ziziphi Spinosae Semen. The effects of different irradiation doses and different water contents on the contents of aflatoxins(AFB1,AFB2,AFG1,AFG2)and spinosin in Ziziphi Spinosae Semen were investigated using high-performance liquid chromatography. The results showed that the degradation rates of AFB1,AFB2,AFG1,and AFG2 treated with acetonitrile solution increased with irra-diation dose, and the degradation rates of AFB1,AFB2,AFG1,and AFG2 treated with 8 kGy irradiation were 97.25%,93.59%,75.11%,and 69.70%,respectively.With the increase of irradiation dose and water con-tent,the degradation rate of aflatoxin in Ziziphi Spinosae Semen also increased. The aflatoxin degradation rates of Ziziphi Spinosae Semen with 23%water content were 30.58%,30.24%,38.04%,and 36.58%,respectively.There was no significant difference in the content of spinosin after different irradiation doses(P>0.05).The content of spinosin in Ziziphi Spinosae Semen irradiated with 7%water content was significantly higher than that in Ziziphi Spinosae Semen with water contents of 15%,19%,and 23%.In conclusion, electron beam irradia-tion combined with water treatment can effectively degrade aflatoxin in Ziziphi Spinosae Semen;however, too high water content is not conducive to the maintenance of spinosin content.
