Changes in Endogenous Hormones in Willows Infected with Witches'Broom Disease
To investigate changes in endogenous hormone levels in susceptible willows infected with witches'broom disease induced by phytoplasma, and to provide a theoretical basis for understanding the pathogenesis and control of willow witches'broom, the contents of 13 endogenous hormones were determined in the susceptible and healthy leaves of weeping willow and dryland willow by the LC-MS/MS method. The results showed a sig-nificant increase in ABA and cytokinins(including DZ and 6-BA),while auxin(including NAA and IPA)and GA(including GA3,GA4,and GA7)decreased markedly in both weeping willow and dryland willow. The infection by phytoplasma led to significant changes in endogenous hormones in willows and resulted in witches'broom symptoms such as axillary bud sprouting.
