Effects of Different Densities on Wheat Yield of Jinmai 1 Under Late Sowing Conditions
The effects of different densities(3.0×106 plants/hm2,4.2×106 plants/hm2 and 5.4×106 plants/hm2)on tillering, population structure, yield and its constitutive factors were investigated at Caox-inzhuang Experimental Farm of Northwest A&F University in 2022-2023 under late sowing conditions, using new extension variety of wheat,'Jinmai 1',as the material. The results showed that as the density increased under late sowing conditions,'Jinmai 1'wheat exhibited a decreasing trend in both primary and secondary till-ers from overwintering to jointing. The primary tillers decreased by 3.0%to 17.4%,and the secondary tillers decreased by 14.3%to 87.0%.The density significantly affected the formation of secondary tillers, with the to-tal number of stems from overwintering to jointing increasing by 8.9%to 44.8%as the density increased.How-ever,the spike formation rate decreased by 0.5%to 2.9%.The highest wheat yield of 11 272.1 kg/hm2 was a-chieved at a planting density of 4.2×106 plants/hm2.Optimization of the three yield components indicates that the sowing date of October25 and a density of 4.2×106 plants/hm2 are most suitable for achieving higher yields of late-sown wheat.
