Effects of Seed Coating and Foliar Application of Functional Fertilizer on Wheat Growth and Soil Properties
The effects of functional fertilizers on the wheat growth period, stress resistance, agronomic char-acters and soil biochemical properties were investigated by comparative demonstration experiments in the fields. The results showed that seed coating reduced the emergence rate of wheat and significantly improved the resist-ance to wheat sheath blight;Foliar application of functional fertilizers had little effect on wheat plant height, spike length, and spike number per 667 m2,but significantly increased wheat above-ground biomass, spike number and thousand grain weight, respectively increasing by 1 400 kg/hm2,0.4 grain and 1.78 g;Compared to the control, wheat yield increased by 8.37%and economic benefits increased by 7.06%.After wheat har-vest,the soil bulk density in the treatment area was significantly lower than that in the control area, while the soil moisture content and soil organic carbon were significantly higher than those in the control area.In view of the positive effect of functional fertilizer on the growth and development of wheat and its possible improvement on the soil environment of wheat,it is suggested that functional fertilizer should be widely used in the process of wheat fertilization management.
