Reservoir Characteristics of Third and Fifth Members of Xujiahe Formation:A Case Study of Block X in Southern Sichuan Basin
The thickness of hydrocarbon source rocks in the the third and fifth members of Xujiahe Formation of block X in the southern Sichuan Basin is large, and the sedimentary microfacies are mainly composed of underwater distributary channels, shallow lake mud and sheet sand, with great exploration and development potential. The reservoir characteristics of the Xujiahe Formation of block X in the southern Sichuan Basin were studied by comprehensively utilizing data such as casting thin section observation, scanning electron microscopy and physical property analysis. The research results indicate that in the studied area, the sandstone types in the third member of the Xujiahe Formation are mainly lithic feldspathic sandstone and sub feldspathic sandstone, while the sandstone types in the fifth member of the Xujiahe Formation are mainly feldspathic lithic sandstone;the pore types of the Xujiahe Formation reservoir are mainly intergranular dissolved pores, intergranular dissolved pores and fractures;the average pore size of the third member of the Xujiahe Formation is 1.36%,and the average permeability is 1.87 mD;the average pore size of the fifth member of the Xujiahe Formation is 2.59%,and the average permeability is 0.15 mD;the third and fifth members of Xujiahe Formation are typical low porosity and low permeability tight sandstone reservoirs.
