With the rapid development of society,coalbed methane,as kind of clean unconventional oil and gas resource,plays an increasingly important role.The reserves,distribution,formation conditions,accumulation mechanism of coalbed methane and the status quo of exploration and development of coalbed methane at home and abroad was summarized,and the key technologies of coalbed methane exploration were analyzed.
