Comprehensive Fire Prevention and Control Technology in Final Mining Stage of Fully Mechanized Caving Face with Thick Coal Seam
The 13#coal seam mined in 13305 fully mechanized caving face is a Class Ⅰ spontaneous combustion coal seam, with a minimum ignition period of 33 d.The final mining period of the face is affected by various factors such as a large amount of residual coal in the goaf, large air leakage in the goaf, top coal fragmentation, excavation of the retreat channel, and long equipment retreat time. The risk of spontaneous combustion of residual coal in the goaf and the fractured coal body behind the frame is relatively high.Based on the on-site conditions of 13305 fully mechanized caving face, comprehensive fire prevention and control measures were proposed for two types of natural fire signs that did not occur and occurred in the mining face. When there were no signs of natural fire in the mining face, fire prevention and control can be carried out by sealing the air leakage channel, preventive nitrogen injection, and grouting. In case of signs of spontaneous combustion, the fire prevention and extinguishing measures centered on timely inerting and blocking the spontaneous combustion and oxidation process of residual coal shall be adopted, that is,on the basis of the original nitrogen injection, water shall be injected through the construction sealing wall and post erection(injection of three-phase foam and yellow mud),and inter erection water shall be injected after the removal of the sealing wall to ensure the safety of equipment withdrawal. After engineering application, the volume fraction of CO and other gases at each position during the final mining and equipment withdrawal period of 13305 fully mechanized caving face were within the safe range, and the fire prevention and extinguishing measures used on site achieved significant results.
