Protection Design for Long-Distance Water Conveyance Pipelines Crossing Flood Ditch
Taking a long-distance water conveyance project in Xinjiang as an example, flood control during the design flood return period of pipelines for crossing different geological conditions and flood gullies with different widths along the pipeline were analyzed.First, the layout type of engineering buildings was determined by analyzing common linear engineering protection types such as transportation, open channels, and buried pipelines.Subsequently, quantitative analysis was conducted on the key protection parameters based on three geomorphic units:the inclined gravel plain area in front of the mountain, the low mountain and hilly area, and the eroded quasi plain area in front of the mountain. Finally, the protection range was determined based on the flood marks in the flood ditch. This engineering example can provide reference for the protection design of flood ditches along long-distance water conveyance lines.
