Flood Investigation and Analysis of Qingzhang River Basin on July 30,2023
From July 28 to August 1,2023,the eastern mountainous area of Jinzhong City,Shanxi Province experienced an extreme weather process,with heavy rainfall in the Qingzhang River Basin,involving 7 townships(towns)in 2 counties of Heshun and Zuoquan.The larger precipitation area was located in the trunk and tributaries in the middle and lower reaches of the east source of Qingzhang River,where the upper reaches of the Songyan River is the center of the rainstorm.According to statistics,the precipitation at some stations in the region has exceeded historical extremes,with the maximum precipitation occurring at Xinzhuang Rainfall Station.The maximum rainfall in 6 h,24 h,and 72 h was 211.8 mm,478.4 mm,and 608.2 mm,respectively,all of which were historical extremes.Due to the high intensity of precipitation and wide coverage,the water level of some rivers in the basin surged and flash floods occurred,causing serious damage to the local area.The causes of rain and flood disasters in Qingzhang River Basin were deeply analyzed as well as the characteristics of spatial and temporal distribution,and corresponding preventive and coping measures were put forward.
