Gu Zuyu was a famous scholar in geography of history in the late Ming and early Qing.During the process of dynastic succession,social changes,and academic transformation,his studies revealed his pragmatic aims,the rise and decline dynasties,and reflected the sense of carrying forward the tradition and the idea of historical geography,which not only manifested the trend of the times,but showed his characteristics.His DUSHIFANGYUJIYAO is unique at that time,for it is a book concerning military geography,and there are strong humanistic and valuable dialectical thought in it,and the author consequently is highly rated.
