On the Stabilization of the San Wu in the Early Chen Dynasty:Centered on the Family of Wu Surnamed
In the early days of the founding of the Chen Dynasty,the gentry with the surname of the over-seas Chinese and local tyrants of Wu were alienated from the Chen regime,but the relationship between lo-cal tyrants of Wu and the Chen Dynasty was more confrontational.After Hou Jin's rebellion,local tyrants of Wu,represented by Wuxing Shen family,still possessed the appeal of the township,and made it possi-ble to recruit refugees to rebel.The Chen Dynasty also paid more attention to the handling of the relation-ship with local tyrants of Wu.To gain the legitimacy of local tyrants of Wu and stabilize the Three Wus,the Chen Dynasty took countermeasures both politically and militarily.In politics,the Chen Dynasty ex-panded territory to obtain food and other resources to supply the San Wu,to solve the survival crisis of lo-cal tyrants of Wu and to shape their identification with the regime;in military,Chen Qian guarded in Kuaiji to control Tiaoxi,and cut off the passage between Tianmu Mountain and Kuaiji.By disintegrating the potential Anji-Wukang line of defense,the Chen Dynasty prevented the rebellion before it happened.
