Litterateur Lu Xun:Literature and Politics——Focused on Takeuchi Yoshimi's Lu Xun:Politics and Literature
Lu Xun's prose poem Hope serves as a testament to the"self-awareness of a litterateur".This includes Lu Xun's awareness of the"finite",encompassing his recognition of the limitations of life, the burden of original sin from the past, and his awareness of the"ancient"within life itself.Lu Xun's essays represent a struggle against the"finite"self, thus becoming the focal point of Takeuchi Yoshimi's explo-ration of Lu Xun's relationship with"politics and literature".In the late 1920s,Lu Xun showed particular interest in Trotsky's Literature and Revolution, which provided theoretical resources for Lu Xun to confront the"ancient"within himself. This paper follows Takeuchi Yoshimi's approach to analyze Lu Xun's essays on"politics and literature"from the mid to late 1920s and attempts to elucidate how Lu Xun engaged with the domain of"politics and literature".
