In 1978,under the guidance of Mr.Chen Lesu and Mr.Xu Gui from the Department of History at Hangzhou University,I embarked on the path of studying history of the Song dynasty and the official system of the Song dynasty.In my research process,under the guidance and encouragement of Mr.Fu Xuancong from Zhonghua Book Company and Mr.Deng Guangming from Peking University,my academic performance has continuously improved.Since 1992,at the proposal of Mr.Fu Xuancong,I have turned to the study of the Chinese Imperial Examination System.In the past 45 years,I have been dedicated to the study of the official system of the Song dynasty and the history of the Chinese Imperial Examination System,and writing continuously.Summarizing my academic experience,there are three points.First,it is necessary to choose academic directions that have innovative value and broad development space;second,be persevere,avoid being eager for quick success or instant benefits,and do something more important while leaving others undone;and third,arrange time reasonably and work scientifically and efficiently.
