Reconstruction of the teaching content for human parasitology based on the approach of One Health
The directional students of clinical medicine are those enrolled and trained for grassroots healthcare services;they are ex-pected to become general practitioners after graduation and serve as the guardians of healthcare system,being responsible for the health of community residents and disease prevention.As a result of the strategic planning of"Healthy China",the approach of"One Health",which emphasizes the overall health of humans,animals,and the environment,has been rapidly accepted in government de-partments,disciplinaries,and various sectors in China.Human parasitology is an important course for promoting and implementing"One Health"concept,since it studies parasites related to human health and the mutual relationships between parasites and human and external factors(animals,environment,etc.).The authors carried out reform in the teaching of human parasitology and embedded"One health"concept into the entire teaching process,so that the students can build a holistic view of diseases,construct a knowledge system,develop clinical thinking ability,exercise practical skills,enhance medical humanistic literacy,and finally become grassroots medical and health talents working on the entire life cycle and whole health process of individuals.
