"Laboratory animal science"is an important professional basic course for medical students.To gain a comprehensive un-derstanding of the teaching effect of this course,the authors conducted a questionnaire survey in the students of 8-year clinical medi-cine programs at the Naval Medical University.The questionnaire includes the dimensions of the students'cognition of the course and their needs,their assessment of teaching content,their assessment of teachers,and their suggestions on teaching and assessment meth-ods.The research results show that there is still room for improvement in the teaching of the course and the authors put forward sugges-tions accordingly,aiming to provide reference for the teaching design and teaching reform in laboratory animal science.
