Construction and reliability and validity test of post-intensive care syndrome assessment scale for critically ill patients
Objective To construct and verify the reliability and validity of localized post-intensive care syndrome evaluation scale for critically ill patients. Methods The initial scale was developed by literature survey, qualitative interview and Delphi expert letter consultation from October 2022 to February 2023.From March to July 2023 convenience sampling method was used to select 393 people from multiple tertiary general hospitals in China, such as West China Hospital,The Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University,Huzhou Central Hospital,The First People's Hospital of Huzhou,Zigong Fourth People's Hospital and Deyang People's Hospital,to carry out a multi-center survey.Formal scales were formed through item analysis and exploratory factor analysis, and the reliability and validity of the scales were tested. Results There were 16 items in the initial scale for the post-intensive care syndrome for critically ill patients. After screening, there were 13 items in four dimensions, namely, physiological function, psychological functions, cognitive functions, and social functions. The Cronbach's α coefficient of the scale was 0.824,and the half-fold reliability was 0.759.The content validity index of each item level of the scale was 0.800~1.000,and the content validity index of the scale level was 0.846.Four common factors were extracted from exploratory factor analysis, and the cumulative variance contribution rate was 67.2%.Conclusion The evaluation scale for symptoms of post-intensive care syndrome in critically ill patients developed in this study has good reliability and validity and can be promoted and applied in the evaluation of symptoms of post-intensive care syndrome in critically ill patients in China.
