Clinical study of electric warm needle combined with Jingu Tongxiao Pill in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis
Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of an electric warm needle combined with Jingu Tongxiao Pill on knee osteoarthritis(KOA)patients.Methods A total of 190 patients with KOA admitted to the hospital from May 2020 to May 2022 were selected and divided into two groups according to the random number table.The control group(n=95)was given diclofenac sodium enteric coated tablets,and the study group(n=95)was given electric warm needle combine with Jingu Tongxiao pills.The curative effect,Western Ontario and McMaster University(WOMAC)scores,serum pain mediators,serum inflammatory mediators,and bone metabolism indexes were compared.Results The total effective rate of the study group(94.7％,90/95)was higher than that of the control group(85.3％,81/95)(P＜0.05).After treatment,the substance P(SP),prostaglandin E2(PGE2),serotonin(5-HT),interleukin-1β(IL-1β),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),matrix metalloproteinase-3(MMP-3),type Ⅰ collagen C-terminal peptide(CTX-I),nuclear factor κB receptor activating factor ligand(RANKL),cartilage oligomeric matrix protein(COMP)and WOMAC score in the two groups were lower than those before treatment(P＜0.05),and those in the study group[(147.11±11.24)μg/L,(168.08±18.54)μg/L,(600.84±81.56)μg/L,(67.03±7.21)ng/ml,(4.18±1.11)ng/L,(96.29±15.21)ng/ml,(396.41±100.09)μg/L,(28.01±5.18)pg/ml,(3.04±0.92)μg/L,(18.76±3.11)scores]was lower than those in the control group[(184.09±15.43)μg/L,(249.74±22.72)μg/L,(710.43±93.28)μg/L,(91.89±8.94)ng/ml,(6.21±1.45)ng/L,(120.03±20.38)ng/mL,(439.32±104.13)μ.g/L,(33.19±7.65)pg/mL,(3.39±1.03)μg/L,(20.85±5.26)scores](P＜0.05).Conclusion The electric warm needle combined with Jingu Tongxiao Pill has a definite effect on KOA,which can improve knee joint function,and regulate pain mediators,inflammatory mediators,and bone metabolism indicators.
