Serum Apelin-13 and FOXO1 expression levels in children with primary nephrotic syndrome and their clinical significance
Objective To investigate the serum Apelin-13 and forkhead box transcription factor O subfamily 1(FOXO1)expression levels and their clinical significance in children with primary nephrotic syndrome. Methods From January 2019 to December 2022,183 children with primary nephrotic syndrome accepted by the department of our hospital were gathered as the study group. In addition,185 physically healthy children who had their medical checkups in this hospital during the same period were set as the control group.ELISA method was performed to detect serum Apelin-13 and FOXO1 levels;Pearson method was performed to analyze the relationship between Apelin-13,FOXO1 levels, and blood lipids indicators. The receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was performed to analyze the diagnostic value of Apelin-13 and FOXO1 in children with primary nephrotic syndrome;multivariate Logistic regression was performed to analyze the risk factors affecting the occurrence of primary nephrotic syndrome in children. Results Compared with the control group, the level of serum Apelin-13 of the children in the study group was lower, and the level of triglyceride(TG),total cholesterol(TC),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),apolipoprotein(apo)B and FOXO1 was higher(P<0.05).Compared with the study group before treatment, the level of serum Apelin-13 was notably higher after treatment, and the level of TG,TC,LDL-C,apoB and FOXO1 was lower(P<0.05).Pearson correlation analysis showed that serum Apelin-13 was negatively correlated with TG,TC,LDL-C,and apoB in children with primary nephrotic syndrome, and FOXO1 was positively correlated with TG,TC,LDL-C,and apoB(P<0.05).ROC curve analysis showed that the area under the cure AUC of Apelin-13 and FOXO1 in the diagnosis of primary nephrotic syndrome were 0.795 and 0.734,and the(AUC)of the two combined diagnosis was 0.920;Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that Apelin-13 and FOXO1 were risk factors for the occurrence of primary nephrotic syndrome. Conclusion Serum Apelin-13 in children with primary nephrotic syndrome has low expression, and FOXO1 has high expression. They are related to blood lipids and have certain diagnostic values for primary nephrotic syndrome.
