Detection and correlation study of plasma 25-OH-D and HbA1c in pregnant women with diabetes mellitus
Objective To investigate the determination and correlation of plasma 25-hydroxyvitamin D(25-OH-D)and glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c)in pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM).Methods From January 2022 to July 2023 in Pingdingshan Maternal and Child Health Hospital,86 women with GDM were selected as the observation group and 86 healthy women as the control group.5 ml of fasting venous blood was collected, serum HbA1c was determined by HPLC and plasma 25-OH-D was determined by HPLC/tandem mass spectrometry. The difference of serum HbA1c and plasma 25-OH-D detection values between the two groups was compared, the correlation between serum HbA1c and plasma 25-OH-D was analyzed, and the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was drawn to analyze the value of plasma 25-OH-D and serum HbA1c in predicting GDM.Results The serum HbA1c in the observation group was(8.3±1.4)%,which was higher than that in the control group(3.8±1.2)%,and the plasma 25-OH-D was(18±5)ng/ml,which was lower than that in the control group(45±16)ng/ml(P<0.05).Pearson analysis showed that serum HbA1c was negatively correlated with plasma 25-OH-D(r=-0.640,P<0.001).The area under the curve(AUC)of serum HbA1c for diagnosis of GDM was 0.790,the sensitivity was 0.814,the specificity was 0.709,and the Jorden index was 0.523.The AUC of plasma 25-OH-D for diagnosis of GDM was 0.757,the sensitivity was 0.767,the specificity was 0.663,and the Yoden index was 0.430.Conclusion Serum HbA1c is negatively correlated with plasma 25-OH-D and an effective predictor of GDM,and can guide clinical treatment.
