Predictive value of serum IFN-γ,LTB4,and IL-6 levels on disease prognosis in children with asthma
Objective To investigate the prognostic value of serum interferon-γ(IFN-γ),leukotriene B4(LTB4),and interleukin-6(IL-6)levels in children with asthma. Methods A total of 80 patients with acute attacks of bronchial asthma admitted to our hospital from March 2022 to March 2023 were selected as the study objects. The patients were treated for 4 weeks and followed up for 3 months.According to the asthma control test, the disease control status of the children was evaluated, and they were divided into 34 cases in the incomplete control group and 46 cases in the complete control group.Serum IFN-γ,LTB4,IL-6,and blood gas indexes[arterial partial pressure of oxygen(PaO2),partial pressure of carbon dioxide(PaCO2)]were compared between the two groups before and after 4 weeks of treatment, and their correlation and joint predictive value of blood gas function were analyzed after 4 weeks of treatment. Results After 4 weeks of treatment, the serum levels of IFN-γ,LTB4,and IL-6 in incomplete control group were higher than those in the complete control group(P<0.05).After 4 weeks of treatment,PaO2 level in the incomplete control group was lower than that in the complete control group, and the PaCO2 level was higher than that in the complete control group(P<0.05).After 4 weeks of treatment, serum IFN-γ,LTB4,and IL-6 levels were negatively correlated with PaO2,but positively correlated with PaCO2(P<0.05).After 4 weeks of treatment, the AUC of serum IFN-γ,LTB4,and IL-6 levels combined to predict the prognosis of children with asthma was 0.742(P<0.05).Conclusion Serum IFN-γ,LTB4,and IL-6 levels are closely related to the onset of asthma, which can be used as an effective index to judge the patients'condition and evaluate the prognosis.
