Objective:To explore the expression and significance of early growth response gene 1(EGR1)in prostate cancer. Methods:The expression of EGR1 in prostate cancer tissues was detected using immunohistochemis-try,observing under microscope, and statistically analysing. Results:The positive rate of EGR1 in prostate cancer were 30.7%(23/75),its expression was negatively correlated with AR,and was also observed in some apoptotic cells. The expression of EGR1 was lower than that of prostate cancer in normal tissues(P<0.05),and was positive in the basal cells of some follicles/ducts,and in some interstitial fibroblasts.Conclusion:EGR1 may be related to the development of prostate cancer tissues and may be associated with apoptosis.EGR1 may be related to the development of basal cells and associated with the growth of fibroblasts.
