Patient-derived xenotransplantation(PDX)model is an animal model established by transplanting pa-tient's tumor tissue into immunodeficient mice.The model has the advantages of preserving the original characteristics of tumor,retaining the tumor microenvironment and tumor heterogeneity,highly correlated with the clinical response of patients.It is an ideal animal model to study the mechanism of tumor metastasis and anti-tumor metastasis treat-ment.This paper discusses the role of PDX model in the study of tumor metastasis mechanism,and summarizes the ap-plication status,development prospects and limitations of PDX model in the study of tumor metastasis.
