Impacts of Land-use Changes on Ecosystem Services——An Investigation Based on the Arid Regions in the Middle Part of the Hexi Corridor
As an essential link between natural processes and human activities, ecosystem serv-ices have unique value and methodological significance in exploring the relationship between ecological systems and human existence.Utilizing an ecosystem services-based analytical framework, this study examines the effects of land-use changes on ecosystems and the disruption of ecosystem services in im-migrant communities within the arid region at the southern edge of the Badanjilin Desert in the Hexi Corridor and intends to shed some light on how current local development interacts with ecosystems. The balance and coordination between current needs and future growth, between shared and conflicting interests,as well as the interaction between environment and culture can provide important lessons for sustainable development under the framework of ecological security, thus enhancing the broader practi-cal application of ecological anthropology.
