Neighborhood Regained:a Research on the Relationship Between Neighborhood Business and Endogenous Rebuilding of Urban Com-munities
One of the major problems in urban community building is the over-emphasis on or-ganization and the role of elites and the neglect of order and cultural recognition developed through the interactions in daily life.It often leads to the disconnection of residents'lives from neighborhood building and community identity cultivation.A shift of focus on local subjects and their roles in infor-mal neighborhood building will provide inspiring new solutions to the dilemma of community building.A study on the interaction of small-scale neighborhood businesses,their reproduction of local way of life,and the reexamination of the roles they played in urban community building is of great signifi-cance.Rebuilding neighborhood and enhancing the sense of community belonging through connection-forging and culture-reinterpreting is an important approach for neighborhood business to participate in community building.
