Efficacy observation of Xiaoer Bianxian formula on children's adenoid hypertrophy with syndrome of intermingled phlegm and blood stasis
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Xiaoer Bianxian formula on children's adenoid hypertrophy with syndrome of intermingled phlegm and blood stasis.Methods:84 cases of children patients with adenoid hypertrophy with syndrome of intermingled phlegm and blood stasis were randomly divided into 2 groups,42 cases in each group.The control group was treated with mometasone furoate nasal spray,while the treatment group was treated plus with oral Xiaoer Bianxian formula on the basis of control group.For both groups,the course of treatment was 4 weeks.The scores of TCM various symptoms and scores of OSA-18 scale were observed in two groups before and after treatment.The improvement of A/N ratio of adenoidal lateral radiographs and the clinical efficacy were evaluated in two groups.Results:The clinical total effective rate of treatment group was 95.24％,which was significantly higher than 78.57％of control group.After treatment in two groups of children patients:the single score of each symptom and total scores of symptoms were significantly decreased compared with before treatment(P＜0.01);the scores of OSA-18 scale were significantly decreased compared with before treatment,and the scores of treatment group were significantly lower than those of control group(P＜0.01);the number of cases that the grade of adenoid volume was normal and mild degree was increased significantly compared with before treatment,while the number of cases of severe degreed was decreased significantly compared with before treatment(P＜0.01);and the improvement of adenoid volume of treatment group was significantly better than that of control group(P＜0.01).Conclusion:The clinical efficacy of Xiaoer Bianxian formula and mometasone furoate nasal spray on children's adenoid hypertrophy with syndrome of intermingled phlegm and blood stasis is better,which can alleviate symptoms and shrink the volume of adenoids.
