Efficacy observation of modified Wuling powder on type 2 diabetes mellitus with syndrome of over-abundance of damp due to spleen deficiency and complicated with obesity
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of modified Wuling powder on type 2 diabetes mellitus with syndrome of over-abundance of damp due to spleen deficiency and complicated with obesity.Methods:60 cases of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus with syndrome of over-abundance of damp due to spleen deficiency and complicated with obesity were randomly divided into two groups,30 cases in each group.The control group was treated with metformin hydrochloride sustained-release tablets,while the treatment group was treated plus with modified Wuling powder on the basis of control group.After 12 weeks,the clinical efficacy,body mass index(BMI),waist circumference,levels of fasting plasma glucose(FPG),2-hour postprandial blood glucose(2hPG)and glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c)as well as adverse reactions were compared between two groups.Results:After treatment,the total effective rate was 93.33％in the treatment group and 63.33％in the control group,and the comparative difference between two groups was statistically significant(P＜0.05).BMI,waist circumference and levels of FPG,2hPG and HbA1c in two groups were lower than those before treatment,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05),and the degree of reduction of treatment group was larger than that of control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion:The clinical efficacy of modified Wuling powder on type 2 diabetes mellitus with syndrome of over-abundance of damp due to spleen deficiency and complicated with obesity is significant,which can effectively improve the clinical symptoms of patients,reduce the degree of obesity and control the level of blood glucose,and it is safe and reliable.
