Efficacy observation of therapy of acupoint catgut embedding on simple obesity
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of acupoint catgut embedding on simple obesity.Methods:75 cases of patients with simple obesity were randomly divided into 3 groups,25 cases in each group.Routine group was treated by lifestyle intervention,western medicine group was treated plus with oral orlistat capsule on the basis of routine treatment,while catgut embedding group was treated plus by acupoint catgut embedding on the basis of routine treatment.The changes of body mass,BMI,waist circumference,serum total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),high density lipoprotein(HDL-C)and low density lipoprotein(LDL-C)were observed in three groups before and after treatment,and the clinical efficacy was compared among three groups.Results:After treatment,body mass and BMI level of patients in each group were lower than those before treatment(P＜0.05);the waist circumference of catgut embedding group was less than that before treatment,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05);the waist circumference of catgut embedding group was less than that of routine group,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).After treatment,the blood lipid level of each group was compared with before treatment,the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05);the levels of TG and TC of catgut embedding group and western medicine group were lower than those of routine group,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion:The clinical efficacy of therapy of acupoint catgut embedding on simple obesity is better.
