Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of modified Cangfu Daotan decoction on polycystic ovary syndrome with insulin resistance and syndrome of phlegm-dampness due to deficiency of spleen.Methods:80 cases of patients with polycystic ovary syndrome with insulin resistance were randomly divided into two groups,40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with metformin, while the treatment group was treated plus with modified Cangfu Daotan decoction on the basis of control group. Both groups were treated for 3 menstrual cycles. The clinical effcacy of patients was compared between two groups. Results:The total effective rate was 92.5%in the treatment group and 87.5%in the control group respectively, and the comparative difference between two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).In the treatment group after treatment, insulin resistance-related indexes,TCM syndrome score, endometrial receptivity-related indexes, sex hormone levels(PRL,FSH,LH,T),total cholesterol(TC)and triglyceride(TG)were significantly improved compared with in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Modified Cangfu Daotan decoction for treating polycystic ovary syndrome with insulin resistance and syndrome of phlegm-dampness due to deficiency of spleen can relieve the clinical symptoms, correct the state of insulin resistance to a certain extent and regulate the level of sex hormones.
