Exploration of the Medication Rules of Traditional Chinese Medicine for Treating Epilepsy Based on Data Mining
Objective To use data mining techniques to analyze the medication patterns of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of epilepsy, provide guidance for clinical treatment of epilepsy, and provide a basis for the modernization of traditional Chinese medicine. Methods Retrieve clinical research literature on the treatment of epilepsy with traditional Chi-nese medicine published in China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform(Wanfang Data),and PubMed database from February 1,2010 to November 30,2023.Use Microsoft Excel 2010 to build the database, and use SPSS Modeler 18.0 and IBM SPSS Statistics 26.0 statistical software for frequency, taste, meridian tropism, association, and clustering rule analysis. Results The results met the screening criteria with 129 articles,169 tra-ditional Chinese medicines, and a total usage frequency of 1359 times.Among them,20 medicines are used at least 20 times, with the main medicinal properties being cold, warm, and mild, with cold being the most severe; The medicinal fla-vors are mainly sweet, bitter, and spicy, with sweet being the most common; The meridian system mainly includes the liv-er,heart,lung,spleen,kidney,and stomach meridians;Among them, the highest proportion of medicines used for cal-ming the liver and dispelling wind, tonifying deficiency, resolving phlegm, stopping cough and asthma, calming Shen, and promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis.Using Apriori algorithm to obtain commonly used associated drug pairs, clustering analysis yielded 8 clusters. Conclusion Wind, fire, phlegm, and blood stasis are the pathological charac-teristics of this disease. The treatment method includes relieving wind and spasms, resolving phlegm and unblocking collat-erals,nourishing Qi and blood, promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis.Commonly used medicines include Gouteng-Tianzhuhuang,Yuanzhi-Shichangpu,Scorpion-Centipede,White Peony-Roasted Licorice,Danggui-Chuanxiong,Chaihu-Huangqin,Poria cocos-Chenpi,etc.
