Borehole expanding correction method for compensated acoustic logging
Accurate acoustic logging data plays an important role in the time-depth conversion of seismic data,synthetic seismogram preparation,seismic inversion,and reservoir modeling.Compensated acoustic logging with two transmitters and two receivers can effectively eliminate the influence of borehole diameter and mud,and eliminate the depth error between recording and measuring points.However,when the borehole enlarge-ment is greater than the correction threshold,the anomalies that cannot be eliminated will occur.Based on the parameters of a compensated acoustic logging instrument with two transmitters and two receivers and Fermat's principle of least time,the travel path of the head wave was analyzed under different borehole expanding condi-tions,and the interval transit time correction formulas corresponding to the three cases were derived.The study results show that by applying derived correction formulas to process and correct the actual acoustic interval tran-sit time data,the interval transit time is more reasonable and closer to the real value of the stratum.Finally,the effectiveness of the method is verified by application examples.
