Effects of Different Routes of Enrofloxacin Administration on Body Weight and Blood Physiological and Biochemical Indexes of Guinea Pigs
Objective To study the effects of different routes of enrofloxacin administration on body weight and blood physiological and biochemical indexes of guinea pigs, this study was performed.Method The effects of different routes of enrofloxacin administration on body weight, blood physiological and biochemical indexes of guinea pigs were determined respectively.Statistical method were used for data analysis.Result High dose of enrofloxacin administered by drinking water significantly affected the water consumption of guinea pigs. Both high dose of enrofloxacin and low dose of enrofloxacin significantly affected the weight gain of guinea pigs.Compared to the control group, several significantly different blood physiological indexes were determined in the administration treatment groups including WBC,MON,GRAN,MCHC,RDW-CV,PDW.In terms of blood biochemical indexes, five parameters(Ca,ALT,ALP,γ-GT,and TG)were also affected after administration, compared to the control group. Conclusion The determination of the effects of different routes of enrofloxacin administration on several biological indexes of guinea pigs would provide basic data for scientific medication in guinea pigs.
