On the Logical Evolution and Distinctive Features of the Petroleum Culture Since the Founding of the People's Republic of China
The developmental history of China's petroleum industry is none other than a chronicle of the evolution of its petroleum cul-ture.The traditional petroleum culture formed under the planned economic system,matched the political logic of petroleum production,and belonged to the highly homogenized mobilization culture driven by political emotions.After the reform and opening up,China's pe-troleum production experienced a complex process characterized by the retreat of the political logic and the transformation towards eco-nomic rationality.Consequently,the corresponding petroleum culture shifted to the economic rationality as the dominant culture with market forces as its driving engine.The petroleum enterprise culture played an instrumental role in writing a new chapter that has tran-sitioned from political sensibility to economic rationality.Upon entering the new era,the China's petroleum enterprise culture is con-structed in alignment with the compound political-economic logic within these enterprises,transcends the unidimensional economic ra-tionality and fosters a novel dialectical unity culture between political rationality and economic rationality.Moreover,the new petroleum enterprise culture selectively preserves the traditional emotion-mobilized culture and thus incorporates the warmth of political sensibility into the political and economic rationality.
