To investigate the level of thyroxine in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome and its clinical significance
Objective To explore the thyroid level and its clinical significance in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS).Methods 40 PCOS patients were selected as the observation group, and according to the serum TSH level, the patients were divided into a low level group(16 cases,TSH<2.5 mIU/L),a medium level group(14 cases,TSH<2.5~4 mIU/L),and a high level group(10 cases,TSH>4 mIU/L).Another 40 healthy subjects were selected as control group. The levels of thyroxine, glucose and lipid metabolism were compared. Results The levels of triiodothyronine(T3),thyroxine(T4)and free triiodothyronine(FT3)in observation group were lower than those in control group, and the levels of TSH and fasting insulin(FINS)in observation group were higher than those in control group(P<0.05).There were significant differences in luteinizing hormone(LH),follicle stimulating hormone(FSH)and FINS levels among the three groups(P<0.05).Conclusion The level of thyroxine in PCOS patients will change significantly, and the higher the level of TSH,the higher the abnormal level of sex hormone secretion and glucose and lipid metabolism of patients, which should be paid attention to and monitored as soon as possible.
