Clinical study on the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome with insulin resistance by traditional Chinese medicine
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of traditional Chinese medicine on patients with polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)complicated with insulin resistance(IR).Methods 55 patients with PCOS combined with IR were prospectively selected and divided into treatment group(27 cases)and control group(28 cases)according to random number table method. The treatment group was treated with traditional Chinese medicine, and the control group was treated with metformin combined with Yasmin. The clinical indexes of the two groups were compared. Results Luteinizing hormone(LH),fasting blood glucose,2 h postprandial blood glucose, fasting insulin,2 h postprandial insulin and insulin resistance index(HOMA-IR)in the treatment group were all decreased after 6 months of treatment compared with the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Traditional Chinese medicine treatment can improve the insulin resistance status of PCOS patients with IR,and the therapeutic effect is comparable to that of metformin combined with Yasmin, which can be used as an alternative treatment for PCOS combined with IR.
