Hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy is a complication with the highest incidence rate during pregnancy, which is accompanied by premature delivery, fetal growth restriction, premature separation of placenta, intrauterine death and other risks, and even leads to maternal and fetal death.Low folate levels are an important risk factor for the development of gestational hypertension, and taking folate can reduce its risk and lower the risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes. However, the specific mechanism remains to be studied. This article reviews the research progress on the mechanism of action of folic acid on gestational hypertension, providing reference for clinical research.
