Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese herbal medicine on thin endometrial infertility. Methods A randomized controlled trial(RCT)of acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese herbal medicine in the treatment of thin endometrial infertility was searched from CNKI,Wanfang,VIP and other databases from the time of entry to July 2021.After literature selection and quality evaluation,meta-analysis was performed using Rev Man 5.3 software. Results 862 patients with thin endometrial infertility were included in 9 RCTs.Meta-analysis showed that:Compared with western medicine, acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese herbal medicine increased endometrial thickness[MD=1.65,95%CI(1.42,1.87),Z=14.33(P<0.0000 1)]and decreased uterine artery pulse index(PI)[MD=-0.10,95%CI(-0.13,-0.07),Z=7.48(P<0.0000 1)],uterine artery resistance index(RI)[MD=-0.05,95%CI(-0.07,-0.04),Z=9.48(P<0.0000 1)],increased the proportion of type A endometrium[RR=1.64,95%CI(1.34,2.00,Z=4.87(P<0.0000 1)]and increased pregnancy rate[RR=1.62,95%CI(1.37,1.93),Z=5.53(P<0.0000 1)],the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of acupuncture and traditional Chinese herbal medicine in the treatment of thin endometrial infertility has better clinical effect than that of western medicine. However, due to the low quality of the included literature, this conclusion needs further verification.
