Clinical effect of metronidazole combined with proestrene in the treatment of postmenopausal atrophic vaginitis
Objective To investigate the effect of metronidazole combined with proestrene in the treatment of postmenopausal atrophic vaginitis. Methods 66 patients with postmenopausal atrophic vaginitis were selected as the study objects and were randomly divided into a control group and a combination group, with 33 cases in each group. The control group was treated with metronidazole, and the combination group was treated with metronidazole combined with proestrene. The total effective rate, clinical symptom scores and vaginal pH of the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate of the combined group was 93.94%,which was higher than 75.76%of the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the vaginal health score and the vaginal symptom score of the combined group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the vaginal pH of the combined group was(4.05±0.84),lower than(5.21±0.94)of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Metronidazole combined with proestrene can not only significantly improve the clinical effect, but also effectively improve the vaginal symptoms and vaginal environment of patients with postmenopausal atrophic vaginitis.
