Clinical application of modified external breech conversion in correcting breech position of term single fetus
Objective To investigate the clinical application of modified external breech conversion in the correction of breech position of full-term single fetus. Methods 80 single pregnant women with breech position were selected and divided into observation group(modified breech)and control group(traditional breech)with 40 cases each. The general data, the incidence of external breech conversion, complications and pregnancy outcome were compared between the two groups. Results The neonatal weight of observation group(3372.50±144.09)g was higher than that of control group(3255.00±189.39)g,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total success rate of ECV in observation group(82.5%)was higher than that in control group(62.5%),and the incidence of intravertebral anesthesia(20.0%)was lower than that in control group(47.5%),with statistical significance(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in complication rate between the two groups(P>0.05).The gestational week and vaginal delivery rate of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, the time interval between ECV and delivery was longer than that of the control group, the Apgar score at birth was less than 7,and the incidence of hospitalization within 48 h after birth was lower than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The overall success rate of modified external breech conversion is higher than that of traditional external breech conversion in correcting breech of full-term single fetus, and the use of intraspinal anesthesia is lower and the pregnancy outcome is better, which is worthy of further clinical promotion and application.
