Clinical application of lateral position in the second stage of labor
Objective To explore the clinical effect of lateral position delivery in the second stage of labor. Methods 100 parturients were selected and divided into two groups with 50 cases each according to random number table method. The control group was delivered in the conventional supine lithotomy position, and the study group was delivered in the lateral position. The second stage of labor time, perineal laceration degree, lateral perineal incision rate, neonatal asphyxia rate and satisfaction were compared between the two groups Results The second stage of labor in the study group was shorter than that in the control group(P<0.05).The degree of perineal laceration in the study group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).The lateral perineal resection rate of the study group was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in neonatal asphyxia rate between the two groups(P>0.05).The maternal satisfaction of the study group was 100%higher than that of the control group(92.00%)(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of lateral position in the second stage of labor can shorten the time of the second stage of labor, reduce the lateral incision rate of the perineum, and reduce the degree of perineal laceration, which has high application value.
