Correlation between vitamin A and E levels during pregnancy and severe preeclampsia in patients with gestational diabetes mellitus
Objective To investigate the correlation between vitamin A and E levels and severe preeclampsia in patients with gestational diabetes mellitus. Methods The clinical data of 162 patients with gestational diabetes mellitus were retrospectively analyzed, the levels of vitamin A and E on the day of establishment(T1)and at the time of diagnosis(T2)were determined, and the patients were divided into the control group(76 cases without preeclampsia)and the study group(86 cases with preeclampsia)according to the presence or absence of preeclampsia at T2.The vitamin A and E levels were compared between the two groups at different time points, and the correlation between vitamin A and E levels during pregnancy and severe preeclampsia was analyzed. Results At T2,the levels of vitamin A and E in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).At T2,55.81%of the study group had preeclampsia and 44.19%had severe preeclampsia. At T,and T2,the levels of vitamin A and E in the severe preeclampsia group were lower than those in the preeclampsia group(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that vitamin A and E deficiency affected the progression of severe preeclampsia(P<0.05).Conclusion The levels of vitamin A and E during pregnancy can be considered as the basis for judging the severity of gestational diabetes mellitus combined with preeclampsia,so as to actively take early treatment.
