Diagnostic value of transvaginal ultrasonography in patients with ovarian cysts
Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of transvaginal ultrasonography in patients with ovarian cyst. Methods 168 patients with ovarian cysts were selected as the study subjects, and all of them received transvaginal ultrasonography. The diagnostic efficacy of transvaginal ultrasonography was analyzed with pathological results as the gold standard. Results The pathological diagnosis of 168 patients with ovarian cysts showed that 160 cases of benign lesions and 8 cases of malignant lesions. The accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of transvaginal ultrasonography were 98.21%(165/168),98.75%(158/160),87.50%(7/8),99.37%(158/159),77.78%(7/9),respectively,there were no significant differences between them and the pathological diagnosis results(P>0.05).Among the 160 patients with benign lesions, there were 71 cases of chocolate cyst,56 cases of ovarian crown cyst,18 cases of inflammatory ovarian cyst,1 case of pedicle torsion of ovarian cyst and 14 cases of luteal cyst of ovary, respectively. The positive rates of transvaginal ultrasonography were 43.75%(70/160),34.38%(55/160),11.25%(18/160),0.63%(1/160),8.75%(14/160),respectively,and there were no significant differences between them and the pathological diagnosis results(P>0.05).Conclusion Transvaginal ultrasonography has good diagnostic efficacy in patients with ovarian cysts, and the diagnostic results can provide effective reference for the treatment of patients, which is worthy of clinical popularization.
