The current situation and influencing factors of folic acid consumption among pregnant women in Huoqiu County in 2022
Objective To understand the mastery of folic acid supplementation knowledge and the use of folic acid among pregnant women in Huoqiu County,as well as its influencing factors.Methods 516 pregnant and postpartum women in this county were selected as the research subjects.A questionnaire survey was conducted to understand the knowledge,current status,and influencing factors of folic acid consumption among pregnant and postpartum women.Results 472 pregnant women answered 3 or more questions correctly about folic acid knowledge,with a knowledge awareness rate of 91.47％.Age,home address,occupation,and a history of poor pregnancy and childbirth are the influencing factors for the awareness rate of supplementing folic acid related knowledge(P＜0.05).The folate intake rate for pregnant women is 96.71％,the compliance intake rate is 32.46％,and the standardized intake rate is 29.84％.Education level and delivery history are the influencing factors of folate intake rate(P＜0.05).Age,home address,and occupation are the influencing factors of compliance rate(P＜0.05).Age,home address,and occupation are the influencing factors of standardized use rate(P＜0.05).Conclusion The rate of supplementing folic acid among pregnant women in Huoqiu County is relatively high,but the compliance rate and standardized use rate of folic acid are both lower than national standards.Independent pre pregnancy consultation clinics or perinatal health clinics can be established in hospitals,maternal and child health and family planning institutions,and even grassroots maternal and child health and family planning specialists can provide one-on-one education to women of childbearing age,expanding the scope of education on supplementing folic acid knowledge for women of childbearing age,improving the compliance rate and standardized use rate of folic acid among pregnant women,and improving the quality of birth population.
