Clinical study on the ues of water balloon and Propess for cervical maturation promotion and induction of labour
Objective To compare the effect of water balloon and Propess on cervical maturation promotion and induction of labor.Methods 62 women who gave birth in the Obstetrics Department of the hospital were selected as the study objects,and were randomly divided into the study group(n=31)and the control group(n=31).The control group was induced by Propess,and the study group was induced by water balloon.The results of labor induction,cervical Bishop score,labor progress and adverse reactions during labor induction were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of labor induction in the study group was 90.32％,compared with 83.87％in the control group,the difference was not statistically significant(P＞0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in cervical Bishop score between the two groups before labor induction(P＞0.05),and cervical Bishop score between the two groups after drug or balloon removal was significantly higher than that before labor induction(P＜0.05),but there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups after drug or balloon removal(P＞0.05).The time from labor induction to labor and labor induction to delivery in the study group were longer than those in the control group(P＜0.05),but there was no statistical significance in the total labor time between the two groups(P＞0.05).The adverse reaction rate of the study group was lower than that of the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion The effect of water balloon on cervical maturation promotion and induction of labor is similar to that of Propess,but water balloon induction of labor has fewer adverse reactions and higher safety,which is worth popularizing.
