Geohazard assessment for offshore wind farm based on GIS
GIS has been widely applied in the evaluation of geohazards onshore, but it is rarely applied in offshore wind farms.Taking an offshore wind farm as an example, this paper applies GIS technology in the evaluation of geohazards in the planning stage of offshore wind farms. The paper constructs a geohazard risk assessment model of the wind farm based on public data such as water depth, earthquakes, faults, and shallow gas.Based on the model,it analyzes the typical geohazards such as shallow gas, landslides, earthquakes, faults, and scouring. It can be seen that shallow gas may exist in the site area, and the possibility of sand liquefaction can be analyzed in combination with the seismic and engineering geological conditions. All of these will influence the installation and operation of the wind turbine. The correlation analysis can provide technical support for later site planning and detailed investigation.
