Technical process analysis of recovery of ethane in LNG terminal station
The extraction of ethane and light hydrocarbons from the LNG receiving terminal cannot only avoid interchangeability problems with downstream gas but also provide ethane feedstock for downstream petrochemical plants for additional economic value.Relying on the actual operation and maintenance procedure of an LNG receiving terminal, the research on the scheme of separating ethane from the LNG receiving station is carried out and two diverse ethane extraction processes are assessed from the view of raw material stability, energy consumption, electrification rate, emission safety, cold energy utilization and so on.The study indicates that the LNG ethane extraction process is characterized by low volatility of feedstock operating temperature and pressure, unnecessity of natural gas pressurization,self-cooling capacity, wide range of load adjustment, local use of environmental heat source, high ethane yield and also strong matching to the send-out fluctuation of LNG receiving station. In addition, ethane recovery in LNG terminal stations is of great significance for the safe operation of natural gas pipeline networks, the improvement of economic benefits of LNG terminal stations, the comprehensive utilization of cold and hot energy, and the integration of upstream and downstream development.
