Cause analysis and improvement of typical cases of mechanical wear
As an inevitable phenomenon during mechanical equipment operation,mechanical wear not only affects equipment performance but also leads to equipment failure and damage.Spline wear and coupling wear are common mechanical wear faults.In this study,several typical spline wear and coupling wear faults encountered in offshore drilling platforms were taken as examples.Based on a brief introduction of the faults and effects,the law and influencing factors of mechanical wear were discussed in detail.Then,the causes of spline wear and gear coupling wear were further analyzed by the combined method of macroscopic inspection and physiochemical detection.At last,improvement and prevention measures were put forward,including reasonable selection and design,replacement or repair of assembly units,lubrication,and maintenance,installation technology improvement,as well as new technology introduction.
