Analyses on the scheme of sand-drift protection for railway subgrade in gobi sand-drift region
Aeolian sand is the main geological problem of bad railway subgrade in Gobi Aeolian sand region of Xinjiang. In order to study the harm of sand blown by wind to railway subgrade in Gobi windy sand area, this paper investigated the construction of the test section of sand blown by wind of Xinjiang section of Golmud-Korla railway.Based on the UAV images, the comparison of sediment accumulation characteristics in test sections and the observation data of wind-blown sand in the system section, the protection effects of the test section were analyzed. The effectiveness and safety of the wind-blown sand protection form and arrangement form were verified. The results show that the effects of sand barriers on wind speed are mainly concentrated below the protective height of sand barriers. After the first sand barrier,at the height of 0.2 m and 0.8 m,the windbreak effect reaches 90.0%~95.0%at the distance of twice as the sand barrier's height, and 80.0%~90.0%at the fourth Test section. The windbreak effect decreases gradually with the height increasing. The protection rate of sediment accumulation in the first protection area is as high as 95.3%.The research results meet the safety requirements of the railway roadbed sand protection in this area, and have better economic benefits. It is provides the comprehensive evaluation of railway infrastructure construction cost and the decision-making of large-area construction and project management of wind-sand protection in the later stage.
