Value of lactulose combined with polyethylene glycol electrolyte powder in bowel preparation before colonoscopy
Objective To explore the effects of adding lactulose in bowel preparation for colonoscopy and its influence on patients'comfort.Methods 102 cases of colonoscopy received in the East Section of The Central Hospital of Shaoyang from October 2022 to December 2023 were selected as the research objects.Patients were divided into the observation group(55 cases)and the control group(47 cases)according to different bowel preparation schemes.The control group took compound polyethylene glycol electrolyte powder orally,and the observation group added the use of lactulose.The effects of bowel preparation between the two groups were compared.Results There was no significant difference in the time of scope insertion and extraction between the two groups(P>0.05).The bowel preparation quality scores of the left colon,transverse colon and right colon in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The abdominal pain score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).There was no statistical difference in the detection rate of polyps between the two groups(P>0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).The overall satisfaction rate of the observation group for bowel preparation and colonoscopy was 94.55%,which was higher than that of the control group(74.47% )(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of lactulose and compound polyethylene glycol electrolyte powder in bowel preparation for colonoscopy can greatly improve the quality of bowel preparation,the safety of examination,and the comfort of patients.
