Three-parameter twin τ2 strength theory and its application
Aiming at the failure of rock, concrete and other materials in engineering under complex stress states,a novel three-parameter twin τ2 strength theory was proposed, and the mathematical expressions were formulated by using three special stress states.Considering the influence of material properties on the ultimate stress ratio, different compression-tension ratio and shear-tension ratio stress values were selected, and the theoretical data and the test data of rock and concrete under different stress states were compared and analyzed. The results show that the theoretical prediction curves according to the as-proposed new strength theory are consistent with the stress failure situations of concrete and rock materials under four common stress states, and that it can guarantee the applicability and safety of brittle materials for engineering application.
